There was an interesting discussion about DCT, MDCT and Wavelets with
respect to audio encoding recently on hydrogenaudio :

Seems that wavelets are not promising too much for audio encoding, while the
guys are convinced its nice for image compression.

I was trying to find more about MDCT and admit i am still clueless here,
especially in respect to DCT ... are there any video codecs based on MDCT or
is this only an audio related coefficients method ?
