Now that's the difference between lamer like me and professional like

Now I see - you're right. How are you going to decide about the number
of b-frames? Things that come out of the top of my head: size of the P
frame (estimated); size of vector data vs. size of texture data (well
after ME only the former is just sum of SADs), linear motion.
Just some ideas ;)
