hi,

over the weekend i implemented mf's chroma optimzer, which averages the
chroma for pure black or white pixels. it offers a minor compression
improvement for natural video, i have not tested it with subtitles or
anime.

now, should we incorporate pre processing into xvid, or leave it to the
encoding application filters? iam really not in favour of such
preprocessing, unless its directly coupled with the encoder (ie. some
kind of psycho-dct-quantization thing).

koepi is also interested in a -2 luma offset filter, to improve playback
on tv out cards.
