could you elaborate on the following:
* cvs branch? stable or dev-api-3
* checkout date/revision?
* what file/example?
* and a real description of the "bugs". 

note: some of the dev-api-3 examples are broken. they will be fixed when
api changes settle down. if you want to familize yourself with the xvid
api, i suggest you examine the stable tree (xvidcore-0.9.0).
