[XviD-devel] xvid.h installed in unstable tree

You mean create a directory called xvid.cvs (or rather xvid-cvs as you
write at 1). This would be a rather boring directory with only one file,
but okay, I don't object. 2-pass header could go there, too, so the xvid.h
has some company.

I guess the correct way would be versioning information, wouldn't it?

Old is   libxvidcore.so.0.2.1

new is   libxivdcore.so.0.3.0

Then the application doesn't have to be changed if the "branch" library 
becomes "dev"/"stable" library. How does the app ask for a version of a
lib?

Anyway, if nobody disagrees, I can of course change that..
