You must compile xvid_stat and do in a cmd.exe or command.com :
# xvid_stat.exe -t 1 -i cactus.pgm -m 1

And    then     compare    with     the    files    i'll     put    in

Yeah you were right i forgot a  "\" in the first line of the multiline
macro, that's why it was failing. Patch commited, please try again. If
it still doesn't work, i'll revert it to the one line definition, does
not matter.
