If I remember correctly, there are some toolkits that work in 
console mode, too. Pretty or not, since XVID doesn't need any graphical
user interface at all, and many UN*X encoding applications don't either, 
a config dialog that can be used via SSH and without X-Windows
etc. would be a great plus.
