Here is a patch that makes trellis return the sum of values, so the
limit thresholds compares oranges with oranges.

This patch also uses the array tricks to remove if branches, i don't
notice any speed impact (functions are only called once per coded MB so
impact would have been in all cases, very low)

If you don't like this type of coding, just tell me, i'll just keep the
trellis fix, and will commit only that part.

@gruel: i left you a nice placeholder where to put trellis for mpeg
quant ;-) feel free to fill with useful code.
