[XviD-devel] xvid-codec

hello,
i'm sorry to bother you, but i downloaded a movie which tells me it needs an XVID-codec.
so i searched on the internet for such a codec and downloaded the xvidcore-0.9.0 zip-package.
i opened it, but now i can't find any installation- or setupfile. what am i supposed to do?
can you help me, or do you know anyone who can?
I should probably tell you that i am a codec-dummie (i do not have any experience whatsoever).
