[XviD-devel] motion estimation question

hi

first of all a question: cost function to be minimized for motion search is 
easy rewritable to bdo some test with xvid or it's difficult changed couse 
closed coupled with other algorithm or piece of code??
can i try to use your  algorithm but only change  cost function??


then.. i suppose you are using a SAD or energy function to find the best 
matching block.. am i right??

do you think is possible to develop a optimous cost function for xvid?? i 
think about a function that minimize high freq coeff, or something else that 
you consider the right way to search it... maybe it can increase compression, 
quality.. or maybe it will not.. i don't know.. i noly want try do do some 
calculus on a sheet and then test it on my pc=)
