Before doing further efforts, you should _really_ work on the dev-api-4
branch. Lot of things have been deprecated in dev-api-4 and xvid_stat is one
them...

Btw, i must admit we did not clean the dev-api-4 from its unused
files... but it's a better start point than current cvs_head.
