If  your  work is  independent  from these  last  changes  (look at  the
modified file list at the end of each changelog entry) then do a:
 $ cvs up -r dev-api-4 -D "2003-05-11"

This  will update  your tree  to the  specified date  version.  This one
compiled and was working great (xvidcore, dunno for vfw).
