hi
i was finlly triing 2 pass with bfraes under linux and mencoder and after i
stopped playback i notice a vary bad frame
the image is a bframe that probably should be not a bframe but a pframe to
have a highter quality
the problem at scene change and it's due to bframe frame calc
bframe=1/2 prev_frame +1/2 next_frame ( this sohuld be rigth )

this is what i think had happened
frame=F
scenechange=S

FFFFFFSFFFF
I BBPBBI BBPP
        ^^
the two bframe before schene change looks orrible couse they are 50% old scene
and 50% new scene

i think the right i/b/p sequence should be

FFFFFFSFFFF
I BBPBP IBBPP

where last frame befora a scene change became a P frame

i don0t know if this problem is due to my encoding setting or if it's has been
exploited by them

these are my setting for bframes

 pass=1:quality=6:vhq=1:qpel:max_bframes=2:bquant_ratio=150:bquant_offset=100

are them wrong??
and now a simple question.. what is bframe threshold.., can it help me with
this problem??

i'll try to post an iomage ASAP
bye
