Sounds too slow to me.

I got the following results using mplayer (-benchmark) to decode a test  
movie (nestea trailer from I recorded from TV).
Perhaps this is interesting to other people in the mailing list, too.

The image size is always 640x480 encoded with XviD. I got 5 different  
encoder settings.

I think the name should be clear.
Tested on a PowerBook G4 (Ti) 1GHz, no other process running except  
those running always.
qpel is slow because the old optimizations are no more used and the new  
one I'm currently working at...
