Ok, I documented them, and the description looks a lot like what you
wrote. It should get into the cvs by tomorrow.

Yes, I insisted on that too.

No problem. Could you maybe post on this list or send a private email to
me when it get committed?

Anyway, big thanks for your explanations.

Apart from that I'm still testing the new front-end.
I mencoded ;-) "21 grams", which pictures are fairly noisy on some
scenes, and it is shot with a "camera on the shoulder" so the camera is
pretty much moving all the time, and GMC was probably a bit win here
(didn't test with or without, just bvop_hq)

without bvop_hq:
Video stream: 1487,243 kbit/s (185905 bps) size: 1332027218 bytes
7165,080 secs 179130 frames
The value 99.99dB is a special value and represents the upper range
limit
xvid: Min PSNR y : 34,06 dB, u : 42,46 dB, v : 44,47 dB, in frame
112543
xvid: Average PSNR y : 40,76 dB, u : 48,13 dB, v : 48,75 dB, for 179125
frames
xvid: Max PSNR y : 99,99 dB, u : 65,35 dB, v : 65,35 dB, in frame 0

with bvop_hq:
Video stream: 1487,194 kbit/s (185899 bps) size: 1331982600 bytes
7165,080 secs 179130 frames
The value 99.99dB is a special value and represents the upper range
limit
xvid: Min PSNR y : 33,84 dB, u : 44,37 dB, v : 46,44 dB, in frame
145386
xvid: Average PSNR y : 40,86 dB, u : 48,12 dB, v : 48,73 dB, for 179125
frames
xvid: Max PSNR y : 99,99 dB, u : 65,35 dB, v : 65,35 dB, in frame 0

Just like last time, bvop_hq improves PSNR and slightly reduces the size
of the movie.
With my very own eyes, I'd say that the "bvop_hq" option seems to
produce smoother pictures, I like its pictures better.

If you'd like more tests, you're sure welcome to ask.

oh... and did you fix the "duplicate frame" problem?

Guillaume
