Yes this should work.

Concerning the lack of debian support, that can be explained by the fact
a patch i sent to current maintainers got lost in their mailbox somehow.
I used to take care of this sort of things for releases i prepared
because i'm a debian user, but i guess new maintainers aren't :-)

Let's hope it will be pushed to CVS so this debian dir doesn't disapear
into /dev/null.
