Thanks for the details. On i386, though, I'm using yasm - is it a 
problem (I've verified it works, the speed change by a factor of 3 while 
using it or not in building the package).

Is there a problem using yasm for i386? What are the avantages of nasm 
over yasm?

Also, will yasm also work for powerpc?
