Hi! I just tried latest snaphsot and it works

Go to the downloads page: http://www.xvid.org/Downloads.43.0.html
And look for
"Xvid daily snapshot"

Also you need NASM to compile:

2.06rc1 version is working for me
You need to set up the MSVC folders to use NASM. Go to "Tools->Options->Projects and Solutions->VC++ Directories" and set up NASM path where you extracted the executables.

MSVC 2005 express here.
