Hi,

indeed, the Xvid 1.1.3 configure script has problems detecting the latest
nasm versions. You have three options to solve the issue:

1) You can install yasm, which is the preferred assembler for Xvid 1.1.3:

    http://www.tortall.net/projects/yasm/

2) Install an older version of nasm

3) Use the latest Xvid CVS source code (or at least take the automake
    scripts from there). Xvid CVS properly detects nasm 2.x versions.
