To convert to 16-bits RGB 555/565 you won't get much more performance than that. Sorry.

Wow, this is the first time I heard of the CT69030
Reading the "69030 Product Overview" http://www.asiliant.com/69030.htm
The paper claims:

"Dual Multimedia Accelerator Engines
• Color Space Conversion (YUV422-RGB)
• Horizontal and Vertical Interpolation
• Color Key Video Overlay
• Double Buffering support for YUV and 15/16 RGB"

So, it should be able to handle XviD native output. And if it doesn't handle the exact match, a conversion to a similiar YUV format your video card supports should be faster than any YV12 -> RGB555.
And, as far as I read, linux drivers supports them.
