[Xvid-devel] Recent XviD binary builds?

Most of XviD code is hand-written assembler using MMX, 3DNow!, SSE & SSE2 (assuming an x86/x64 built)

So, the speed gains from using a better optimizing compiler may be minimum in this case; unless you're planning to disable these optimizations or run the core in an extremely old PC.

Hi Jeremy,

Out of that list, Koepi is probably the most trusted, but as you
noticed that site hasn't been updated in quite some time.

It's probably worth mentioning that if you compile your own binaries,
they'll probably be quite a lot slower than ones available online.
This would only be an issue if you are encoding rather than decoding
of course, but if you want to get to similar speeds you'll need to try
out different optimization options, and it's probably worth looking at
the Intel compiler rather than the Microsoft one (this is based on my
experience with compiling LAME and benchmarking my binaries against
the ones available on RareWares)

Regards,

zofrex
