1. No.
2. Yes.
3. Yes.
4. Yes, but not to the XviD creators. XviD is a GPL'd codec (meaning you
CAN use it in a private application
But unless you work out some special agreement with the main license
holders you have to license your program
As GPL, we wont discuss the specifics about patent encumbered programs
lack of protections under the GPL) This only applies if you're going to
directly incorporate the code from XivD into your program, not make an
encoding program that utilizes XviD, if you are going to use XviD,
you're responsible for patent fees to the MPEG-LA for Mpeg-4 usage.

Hello,

1. The XVID codifies audio? (As I make to codify audio and video?)
2, XVID makes capture/stream of video?
3. The source code is portable for linux? (Which the standard
compiler?)
4. Is necessary to pay copyrights in commercial applications? (Which
the recommendations?)
---
I have interest in making a commercial application...
Therefore I am studying the XVID and the MPEGÎP.
If voces will be able to make some comparative commentary on the two
implementations, would help very.
Where It is available for download encoder and to decoder (binary)?

Thank's for all
Fernando Souza de Andrade
