There is some Altivec related activity on ffmpeg-devel ML,
maybe you contact the guy working on Altivec support. Even if
you're not working on same projects, your problems are quite
similar as he experienced some gcc-altivec miscompilations and
he's doing some tweaking to make things reliable on both mac
gcc and gnu gcc.
